Persistence

I have RETRIBUTION in the public arena through Amazon and Smashwords, but no time to rest on my laurels - I'd squash them anyway. Have started the second book but can't ah are the title yet because it could change. I'm having much more trouble with writers block with this book. It's challenging. Jason Fox's 'vivid ideas' don't seem to be flowing as well, he needs to develop a strategy to tap into his gift. I have a plan to have this one published by 31st March, but the deadline for RETRIBUTION slipped so this time I'm not promising anything.

Good News

Since publishing Retribution on 7 January 2013, I have sold 5 books. I am delighted. I hope those who have bought it have enjoyed it. Feedback is most welcome. Thank you

Onwards and upwards

The first book is published, and I understand that the second book is often harder than the first to write. The book I read for inspiration is Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast. In a letter to L H Brague Jr in 1959 he wrote I like to write. But it has never gotten any easier to do and you can't expect it to if you try for something better than you can do. If a Nobel prize winner for literature finds it difficult then I can't expect otherwise. But I agree with Hemingway that it makes you feel good.

The good thing about Hemingway is he liked his cats. I have two moggies. One of them has aspirations to be a writer, and loves to add a paragraph or two of gibberish when he's walking across the keyboard. Could be his prose is worth a fortune.

New Book Cover

Now that RETRIBUTION is published, the actual cover that I designed doesn't look as good as I had expected as a thumbprint. I have changed it slightly and am currently uploading to Kindle and Smashbooks. Laborious process.

I would welcome constructive criticism. X

Formatting

Have spent ages formatting the manuscript for Premium status with Smashwords. It has been challenging but so worthwhile. I made full use of the Style Guide and learned so many natty techniques - worth a read and it's FREE. This process has been like knitting a jumper. Great fun sitting doing the creative stuff but when you reach the point where the finished product has to be stitched together and all the loose ends tied in it can be frustrating - or maybe that's just me. Anyway, all done. Now onto the next Jason Fox story. What will he get up to next? Will he quit crime? Will he win the lady in the end? Will he conquer his demons and those in the spirit world?

His journey has just begun

Smashwords

Have just published Retribution with Smashwords, though for full distribution I have to complete some specific formatting of the manuscript. This is all new to me but good fun. Smashwords offer a free sample of the book. It's a fantastic opportunity to have a taster read. Hoping for some constructive feedback from my debut novel.

A little bit of personal success

Well I feel like I am a success. I have uploaded my book Retribution onto Amazon Kindle and I have achieved such personal satisfaction with my achievement. I took on this project with the utmost seriousness and am delighted with my succeeding in finishing it. Whatever happens from now is a bonus. Hat's off to all those authors out there- it's hard and mine is only a diddly book. Just beside me at my desk is Kate Mosse's three enormous tomes. Wow is all I can say about her discipline.

Well, there we are. I'm chuffed
